ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AS THE FOUNDATION OF MANAGEMENT CONTROL IN HIDAYATULLAH ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

Abstract

This research aims to determine effectiveness of managerial activities from the perspective of organizational culture which is influenced by personal behavior as individuals and as members or part of the community or organization. The research was conducted at the Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya. The research method used a descriptive qualitative method. The research result showed that the culture of the Islamic boarding school was used as a foundation by the management to control its managerial activities by carriying out “moral development” to all its internal resources. Islamic moral establishment in management activities describes human resources as “the servants of Allah”. Islamic personal moral goodness will impact on the lack of non-procedural action in the Islamic boarding school environment. Islamic civilization is built on every managerial aspect through regular study and guidance. This will establish in accordance with the guidance of Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. Islamic boarding school culture can be a social control that enters the soul and affects the academic community in the environment.
